“For the wages of sin is death; but the "GIFT" of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
This isn't about "Religion" this is about a personal Relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Too many people believe that just because they pray a prayer of salvation ("Sinners Prayer" etc.) that they don't need to seek a deeper relationship with Jesus or they think all is well and they can go on living life the way they always have, doing whatever is right in their own minds. Thus never seeking true righteousness and holiness. A prayer of salvation is a prayer said with commitment, faith and perseverance. It is a transformative prayer of repentance and profession of faith before the Lord that should never be taken lightly. This type of prayer should not be viewed as a "religious" act, rather a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Below is an example of a prayer of salvation based largely upon the Gospel of Luke 10:9-10
If you are ready feel free to pray the following prayer or one that is similar:
"Father God, I confess that I am a sinner and I have sinned against you. I ask that you forgive me of all of my sins. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I believe in my heart that God raised him from the dead. I invite you into all parts of my life to guide me as you will as I know you are my Savior, in Jesus name I pray. Amen
